Purpose: Responsible for performing skilled maintenance, installation, repair and inspection work on complex refrigeration equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and repair support to ammonia and Freon based refrigeration systems in a single plantRepair or rebuild Cornell pumps, solenoid valves, manual valves, and water pumpsMaintain FES compressors including adding oil, changing oil filters, cleaning strainers, and replacing separatorsComplete PSM inspections and checklists of all componentsWork safely by utilizing proper lockout tag out, hot work, confined space, and standard operating procedure policiesPerform emergency shut down and startup, restart failed equipment, and put systems back onlineTroubleshoot pump re-circulating systems, liquid transfer systems, electrical and mechanicalParticipates in meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functionsResponds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concernsPrepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying informationPerforms a variety of other tasksEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:High School diploma or GED is preferredAt least 5 years' experience operating, servicing, and maintaining industrial refrigeration systemsUniversal EPA certification; RETA CARO certification requiredStrong mechanical, electrical and Computer efficient skills (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)Willing to work OT and be on a rotating on call schedule (weekends & holidays included)Valid driver's licenseFamiliar with performing the functions of the job including: standard methods, materials and tools used in assigned skilled trade; and safety practices and proceduresPhysical Requirements:Frequently be able to push, pull, carry, lift (up to 50lbs), sit, stand, walk or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spacesAbility to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and armsFrequent hand/eye coordination to operate toolsVision for reading, recording and interpreting informationSpeech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and customers
