What Materials Management contributes to Cardinal Health Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements. Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels Accountabilities - Manages department operations and supervises professional employees, front line supervisors and/or business support staff - Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals - Ensures employees operate within guidelines - Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers - Interacts with subordinates, peer customers and suppliers at various management levels may interact with senior management - Interactions normally involves resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects - Gains consensus from various parties involved Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in a related field - Prior experience in a similar role - APICS certification preferred - ERP experience is required, AS 400 preferred - Strong communication skills - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
