Job Description:
Gamma Lead Data Scientist (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. -
Boston, Massachusetts): Design and build advanced analytics
methodologies, solutions, and products to deliver value to BCG's clients,
in collaboration with case teams. Specific duties include: lead and
execute analytics work and continue to expand the analytical foundation
and competitive value proposition; create relevant products and
service offerings with priority global practice areas; collaborate
directly with client and BCG case teams to manage analytics components of
client deliverables; responsible for clarifying initial objectives,
setting up analysis work plan and methodology, organizing and planning
team members’ deliverables, quality assurance and managing the
scope throughout the project; provide mentoring and career development
to junior data scientists; stay current on leading-edge
business applications, tools, and approaches; and proactively work with
Analytics leadership to enhance offering that deliver a competitive
advantage to BCG. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering,
Business Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related
field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus seven (7)
years of experience providing advanced data analytics solutions in a
business setting, which must include at least two (2) years of experience
leading and managing projects and teams. Specific skills/other
requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this
section) must possess the following: (i) Deploying core analytics
approaches including variable reduction, segmentation/clustering techniques
and descriptive statistics; (ii) Developing and tuning machine
learning algorithms for predictive analytics, including linear
regression, logistic regressions, decision-tree based models, and deep
learning approaches; (iii) Developing complex analytics approaches
using optimization, matrix factorization and natural language
processing techniques; (iv) Operating in big data computational systems
and distributed environments; (v) Using data visualization tools
including Tableau, GIS toolkits, and JavaScript/D3; (vi) Managing
engagements and leading teams in a matrix organization; and (vii) Driving Agile
projects and applying lean methodologies to code development. Domestic/international travel (up to 75%) based on
client/company need. Multiple positions available. Must have unrestricted
authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 45+ hours per week.
