Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Albany, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,667 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Albany, New York, 12208! Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required. Navy blue scrubs required. Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Conditions managed include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Candidates must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations, ACLS, and advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols. Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolic therapy, central lines, CVP monitoring, and EVD management is required. Knowledge of orthopedic traction and infection prevention protocols is essential. Familiarity with high flow nasal cannula, BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent therapies is also necessary. Nurses with extensive adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to excel in this role. The average patient load is 3 high-acuity patients.
