The Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) is seeking a dedicated Nurse
Educator to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of
comprehensive education and training programs within our skilled
nursing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all
educational offerings meet mandatory requirements, support the
enhancement of patient care, and contribute to staff recruitment
and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and implement curricula for both immediate and
ongoing educational programs tailored to staff learning needs.
Evaluate and improve training effectiveness related to patient
safety, treatment interventions, and adherence to standards of care
and best practices.
Oversee and provide comprehensive employee orientation programs to
foster organizational commitment and satisfaction.
Ensure that training and education programs support the facility in
maintaining licensure and survey readiness.
Utilize educational initiatives to reinforce the organizational
culture and promote current clinical best practices.
Develop and regularly assess learning objectives, educational
offerings, and employee proficiency in mastering content, including
necessary clinical skills.
Facilitate and support nursing students and instructors during
clinical experiences within the facility.
Participate in nursing conferences and workshops to stay abreast of
emerging trends and practices.
Promote a climate of continuous learning and provide educational
opportunities that encourage professional development among
staff.

Veterans' Home licensing requirements. Candidates must pass any
level of background investigation applicable to the position,
including Vermont and national criminal record checks, adult and

applicable.
Environmental Factors
Duties primarily performed in a clinical and office setting.
Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens,
potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and
other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work
evenings, nights, weekends and extended shifts as the need
arises.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse
(RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via
a multi-state license AND five (5) years or more of professional
nursing experience in the nursing specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Special Requirements
Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse OR eligible
to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license as a
condition of employment.
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and
for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a
condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required
is an essential function of this job class.
