Description Responsibilities of the CNC Manufacturing Engineer
Develop, optimize, and validate multi-axis CNC machining processes
for intricate components. Program CNC machines primarily using Open
Mind hyperMILL; experience with Fusion 360, ESPRIT, or Siemens NX
is beneficial. Design and build custom workholding and fixturing
solutions, including setups for machining and CMM inspection.
Perform first article validations, confirm setups, and refine
programs to enhance efficiency and consistency. Implement
lights-out machining techniques to increase automation and extend
unattended operation. Apply advanced probing methods to precisely
align complex parts such as additive-manufactured pieces, castings,
and forgings. Analyze CMM inspection data to detect risks and
adjust machining approaches to maintain tight tolerances. Work
closely with quality teams to resolve machining and inspection
issues. Develop comprehensive setup documentation in ProShop ERP to
ensure consistent production. Mentor junior programmers and machine
operators as needed. Lead continuous improvement efforts to
optimize tooling, processes, and reduce cycle times. Profile Ideal
CNC Manufacturing Engineer Candidate: Over 6 years of CNC
programming expertise, specializing in multi-axis milling and
mill-turn operations. Proficient in Open Mind hyperMILL; knowledge
of Fusion 360, ESPRIT, or Siemens NX is a plus. Solid grasp of
GD&T, CNC tooling, and precision machining techniques. Skilled
in developing lights-out machining and automation processes.
Practical experience designing and fabricating custom fixtures.
Experienced with advanced probing for part alignment and
interpreting CMM inspection data. Strong troubleshooting abilities
focused on machine performance, part accuracy, and process
improvements. Knowledgeable of aerospace manufacturing standards
and best practices. Familiar with machining high-performance
materials like titanium, Inconel, and other nickel alloys.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering results. Job
