Job Description This Facilities Engineering Supervisor position
will report directly to the site Facility Plant Engineering
Manager, responsible for the Lexington, Burlington, and Plymouth MA
Locations. Collectively, these sites make up a total of
approximately 260,000 GSF within business park settings. The
position will be based out of the Lexington, MA site, located at 2
Forbes Road. This site consists of 22 acres, which supports one
primary building totalling approximately 96,000 SF, housing
approximately 160 employees. The Lexington Site provides support to
three different business areas utilizing general office space,
manufacturing facilities, environmental testing facilities, laser
labs, clean rooms and R&D spaces. This position is part of a
larger Facilities organization and offers a competitive
compensation and benefits package. The successful candidate will be
part of a Plant Engineering Team that maintains and operates
building infrastructure consisting of a variety of industrial
spaces. These include Office Areas, Class 5 thru 8 Cleanrooms,
Manufacturing Areas, Closed DoD Space, and R&D Specialty Labs.
The Facilities Plant Engineering Team consists of skilled
tradespeople (HVAC Specialists, Plumbing Specialists, Electrical
Specialists, Building Automation Specialists, General Maintenance
Mechanics and Chemical Handlers), a Facility Manager, Supervisor.
Additionally, the selected candidate will be working with Safety &
Health representatives, Human Resource Representatives,
Environmental Specialists, Communications Specialists, Security
Specialists, Custodial personnel and Professional Administrative
Support Personnel. The successful candidate must have strong
communication skills, experience in a leadership role researching,
designing and executing infrastructure and space projects.
Experience with and ability to communicate with various technical
trades with varying capabilities, building occupants, lab
coordinators, functional managers, and executive leadership.The
successful candidate will have experience and strong technical
knowledge in the following systems, industrial processes, and
building operations:
- Electrical Distribution and Maintenance for an industrial
setting
- Lighting
- Emergency Generators and Transfer Switches
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Fire Protection Systems, PIV's, Wet Sprinkler Systems, and
Kitchen Hood Systems.
- HVAC Equipment including but not limited to DX Package Units,
Water Cooled Central AHU's, Air Cooled Chillers and Cooling
Towers.
- Building Automation and Digital Control Systems.
- Low Pressure Boilers and centrifugal pumps and heat
exchangers.
- Air Compressors, Air Dryers and Filtration systems.
- Water Softening Systems
- Ability to perform HVAC, heat load & electrical load
calculations
- Hazardous Gas Detection Systems
- Familiarity with CMMS Software (Maximo)The successful candidate
will have a safety-first attitude and will be required to take
Incident Commander (HAZWOPPER) training. They will also be part of
an incident response/Business Continuity Team playing both a
supporting and lead role at times. The candidate will work with
regulatory requirements such as SPCC Plans, Above Ground Storage
Tanks, Hazardous Waste Storage, Industrial Discharge Permits, and
Lock Out / Tag Out procedures. The successful candidate will be
required to have commissioning experience and will be responsible
for service contracts for industrial equipment. The successful
candidate will also be comfortable with and have a working
knowledge of a variety of computer software applications such as
Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, BMS Software GUI's and other
GUI administrative tools. The successful candidate will be required
to obtain a secret clearance background check for classified space
access to service infrastructure equipment and other space
needs.The preferred candidate will have experience designing
building facilities, systems, utilities and equipment, and/or have
Construction Project Management experience with industrial and/or
commercial projects.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical,
Mechanical, and Civil) with 4 years of industrial/commercial
building operational experience; Or, Associate's Degree in
technical building related discipline with 6 years of
industrial/commercial building operational experience; OR, 8 years
of related experience in lieu of degree.

structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
